 Learningapps.org provides FREE templates for many types of interactive games. There is no premium version they want you to upgrade to.

Learningapps are great as they can provide multimedia resources which can be tailored specifically to you class for free. 

The drawbacks: 

  • they are self-contained and do not provide feedback for teachers to see how students have done
  • they do not give hints for students. For matching exercises this is fine, but can be a  real demotivator when students are struggling with crosswords.


In the game below, the student needs to find the objects named in the yellow box. They do this by clicking on the correct circle. There are a set number of chances and the Remaining box tells the student  how many chances that they have left. You have boxes for the correct number of guesses and wrong number of guesses. There is a timer telling the student how long they have spent on the activity.



The plusses of PurposeGames are the great variety and simplicity of the games. 

The main downside is that, unlike Quizizz and Quizalise, there is no feedback for the teacher to use to see if a student has done the exercise. Teachers could request students to take a screen capture to overcome this limitation.

You can use the examples to inspire you to customise one of the exercisees for a lesson you are delivering.
